Photography, nature and sea
ACSI Nazionale and ACSI Matteotti present the LINOSACAMPUS.
31 July – 7 August
10 – 16 August
20 – 26 August
The small island of Linosa is situated 160 km further from the coast of Sicily, in the middle of crystal clear water, in the heart of a lively Mediterranean sea not contaminated by ecological disasters. Born thousands of years ago, shaped by a lava spilling submarine volcano and cooled by the sea, with a 6 square kilometers surface, today the island is the center of a protected marine area as well as one of the rarest nesting places, a true natural habitat of loggerhead sea turtles (Caretta Caretta) and other species in extinction.
The spirit of the activities at LINOSACAMPUS is the value and the excitement of living in contact with the nature, not in a contemplative and abstract way but in a practical and dynamic through the exercising of sports both naturalistic and artistic as well as through educational activities. The main activities that characterize the campus, in fact, aim to explore, admire and appreciate the coast and the underwater world, the flora and fauna that inhabits it, to observe with the selective camera eye the environment in its most diverse and tiny details.
LINOSACAMPUS activities are: – Sports diving tours for patented. – Course Diver 1st grade with release of an international patent. – Seawatching and snorkeling. – Creative photography lessons, image language and photographic basic technique, hints on digital workflow, traditional and digital darkroom, image storage, IMPOSSIBLE and LOMO experience, vintage printing techniques and photographic excursions. – Underwater photography course – Trip to the Volcano mountain – Night observation of Shearwater ( Berta maggiore)
The accommodation is a typical Mediterranean house with a large terrace, close to the sea coast. Provided services: hot water, electricity, showers. Breakfast, lunch and dinner are in the fare (included in the registration fee) with a balanced and typical Mediterranean diet.
